Squisito

Italian Takeaway Kitchen

In my country food is a tradition, one of the pinnacles of our culture. Food brings family and friends together every day, for special occasions, and embodies gatherings, sharing, happiness and joy. My home city of Naples sits in the Campania region, famous for its San Marzano tomatoes, aubergine, peppers, salad greens, figs, and lemons, which you will find in abundance on our menu. Our Della Nonna Gourmet pizza is a descendant of the world's first pizzeria which was born in Naples! It is still my favourite pizza my grandmother made at home!
When I opened Squisito Italian takeaway 12 years ago my desire was to offer people a taste of Italy. We are a team of chefs from Naples sharing and cooking recipes learnt from our parents and grandparents, with a dollop of inspiration from modern cuisines and you, our customers. Squisito, (pronounced skwiˈzi.to), translates to delicious. Our mission is to ensure you savour the taste of delicious Italian food
What makes our pizzas so special? Ingredients, patience, Pizzaiolo (pizza chef) skill and passion. Our dough is made fresh on site, using Italian ‘00’ flour, adding a mix of dry and fresh yeast; it’s allowed to rest up to 48 hours. The recipe and time in proofing give the right structure and texture for our Pizzaiolo to hand flatten and toss the dough into a thin crust pizza base. Our pizzas are cooked in a hot stone oven, turned by the pizza chef for perfection.
Our garlic pizza bread, paninis, savoury and sugared dough balls are made from this dough too.
Sauces for our pizzas and pastas are made in our kitchen to Italian recipes, using mostly Italian ingredients. Our tomato sauce pizza base and pasta sauces use only San Marzano tomatoes (Pomodoro). Our rotisserie chicken is firstly marinated in an Italian herb mix before being slow cooked; topside beef is seasoned and cooked in our ovens before being sliced to add to our pizza or pasta dishes. Try our Stromboli di Carne, it is an indulgence of topside beef & Mozzarella! Bolognese is prepared to the Italian recipe I grew up with and used for Spaghetti Bolognese and Lasagne; in keeping with our origins, we make most of our starters and sides by hand, using fresh ingredients.
Buon appetite
